VALIDATION FAILED MESSAGES
There have been some 'free' customers of the Ugrib service that have been experiencing difficulties gaining access to the service. This service has become very popular and places very heavy load on our servers especially when a minority of users are not prepared to abide by a fair usage policy.
Our 'free' data service is regularly abused and we have been forced to increase the levels of authentication and security on the service simply to keep the system running. It is at our expense that this free service continues and we are dissapointed that a minority of users have forced our hand on this issue at the expense of the larger community.
There is a mechanism by which users installations are now recognised by the server and we try to track usage of the system so that we can restrict those that do not abide by a common sense 'fair usage' policy.
We had hoped that anyone experiencing issues with licensing would follow the guidelines in this post http://www.grib.us/Forum/tabid/55/forumid/14/threadid/1642/scope/posts/Default.aspx to request an expansion of their license. Instead most users have added more accounts, and generally tried other ways to circumvent the licensing.
We have added more 'resources' to the public version of our service which has allowed us to relax the licensing scheme. Would anyone having experienced isues within the last few weeks please try accessing the service again.
A FINAL NOTE
A small proportion of our userbase have been affected by these issues and in 95% of those cases we believe the relaxing of our security will solve any issues that have been experienced.
