I also tried creating a new account: it didn't help, same problem when trying to download data.

Likewise with me. Until that 1 computer went down and I re-installed in this.
It worked 3 times then I had the "validation failed message".
I suspect, from the number of times in the past that I've been asked to re-validate, if you are
on a Public WLAN, grib.us assumes a new installation in a new computer.

If this is the case it would appear to be a flaw in the system design, which might well be addressed
