why it is not possible to view grib 2 files from offenbach?

Our service is designed to provide data in a simple way and our free viewer is designed to view that own data.

We have remained with GRIB1 to maintain compatibility with the many navigation applications that can view it.  No 'mainstream' applications that we are aware of use GRIB2.

We have left Ugrib unlocked to allow the viewing of other files but have no plans to make it GRIB 2 compatible.

There are utilities available that can convert GRIB2 data into GRIB1 data.  One such is "cnvgrib" (Google it), which is built using "g95", a GNU-type FORTRAN-95 compiler.  I believe there are others as well.
