Congratulations on your excellent site.

I note the FAQ about wind strengths.    From observations over many years I have found that GFS wind strengths normally significantly understimate winds at sea for anything more than about 20 knots.

The only sources of grib data that I have found to give accurate predictions  in moderate to heavy weather are sources that use the WWAV model which seems to be far more accurate.

I should stress this is a purely from observation but it seems to hold at least in waters around the UK. I might speculate that the GFS is overestimating surface drag at sea,   the isobars are usually correct. In fact I have  a rule of thumb which is to double every knot above 17 for GFS.  That may be a little excessive but it's not far off right.

So my wish list would be to provide WWAV model gribs.  I have yet to find a source of WWAV data that wasn't "bitmapped", i.e. they only have data at sea. This is a particular problem in the mid Engish channel where there is only one point and nothing to interpolate around.

Excellent work
